Managing connections within and across multiple teams is always a challenge. As is often the case, a member of one team is blocked by something that is being worked on by another team, or the work is related to what the other team is working on. In Favro this means identifying and making connections between one card and another card or multiple cards. The Attach Favro cards and boards feature allows you to do this by creating two-way dynamic links between a card and other cards, boards or backlogs.
How to link a card/board to a card
Open any card and click Attachments > Favro cards and boards. Search for the specific card you’d like to link (You can use the Card ID or a link to a card). Once the card is linked, it will appear as an attachment on both cards. This attachment can be clicked to jump back and forth between cards. The attached card also shows exactly where it lives on other boards and backlogs.
This same method is used to link a card to a board, indicating a more general connection between one team’s work and another team’s work. A card can have multiple card, board and backlog attachments. Each attached board or backlog shows all of the collections where it resides and, when clicked, the option is given to jump directly to your collection of choice.
How to link a board to a card
From the board menu (⋮), select More > Attach Favro card. Search for the card you’d like to attach. Once attached, a link icon will appear on the board/backlog header, and a corresponding link will appear within the card pop-up.
How to track connections from a board
In a board, activate the “Favro attachments” column. Once activated the column will show attachments for each card on the board. Along with the attachment name, the current board and board column will be displayed. This lets you easily track exactly where a blocking card lives on another team’s work board, directly from the backlog.
