How to make use of Timesheets.

Using timesheet reports, available on the Enterprise plan, you can provide clear reports on your time spent to stakeholders, clients and management. Timesheet reports can also be very useful when you want to see how much work an external member, such as a consultant, has performed for you.

Adding timesheet entries to cards

First, click your avatar in the top right corner, go to Apps and integrations and make sure that Timesheets are enabled for your organization.

Once Timesheets are enabled, you will have to add it from the card.

You can now add timesheet entries to cards, describe what you've been working on, set a start date and duration. It is also possible to create and choose a category, these can be based on teams, clients, projects, or whatever suits you. The categories will make it easier when filtering in the Timesheet reports which we will talk about later.

Timesheet totals will appear on the cards and if you choose, summaries can also be shown in the backlog, in column headers, and on the board.

Building Timesheet reports

On the Enterprise plan, you also have access to powerful timesheet reports. You can provide clear reports on your spent time to stakeholders, clients, and management.

Before you start building reports, make sure you have created timesheet categories that you can filter by. This is only available in the Enterprise version and allows you to categorise your timesheet entries, which is very useful for creating clear reports.

1. This section allows you to select your desired criteria for the report, such as timesheet category.

2. Settings gives you access to including archived cards and exporting your results.

3. These dropdowns allow you to show your timeline in days, weeks, months, quarters or years; you can group your results by cards, members or categories; and you can sort ascending or descending.

4. You can export your results in Microsoft Excel and CSV format.

Changing the different options mentioned above will also affect how data is presented in the table below the chart.
