Troubleshooting the Jira Integration error messages

Understand the error message meanings and take action to resolve it.

After setting up Jira with the help of the How to setup Jira integration article, you might come to some error messages that would require additional actions.

Here we will go through the most common error messages and provide what actions you would need to do in order to solve the issue.


Field 'summary' cannot be set

Issue: The user linked to the permission domain does not have permission to create cards in Jira.

Solution: Make sure that the integration user for the permission domain has all the relevant permissions.

  • In the project's permission schemes, the integration user should be granted the "Browse Project" permission.

  • The integration user should be given the appropriate permissions to the filter and/or the project.


Remote call timed out

Issue: Jira plugin didn't respond to Favro message.

Solution: Check the connection from Jira to Favro in the Favro plugin in the General tab.

You can also check if there are any errors under the Error logs section in the same General tab.

Make sure that your Jira instance has internet connection.


Connection to Jira was disabled or removed

Issue: The plugin is disabled or removed from Jira side.

Solution: Check if Favro plugin in Jira is not removed and is fully connected in the Apps menu.


Socket connection between Favro and Jira plugin wasn't established

Issue: The plugin is disabled or removed from Jira side.

Solution: Check if Favro plugin in Jira is not removed and is fully connected in the Apps menu.


The selected filter is not available to you

Issue: The user linked to the permission domain does not have permission to create cards in Jira.

Solution: Make sure that the integration user for the permission domain has all the relevant permissions.

  • In the project's permission schemes, the integration user should be granted the "Browse Project" permission.

  • The integration user should be given the appropriate permissions to the filter and/or the project.


A disabled permission domain cannot perform any actions

Issue: Permission domain is disabled.

Solution: Enable permission domain in Favro's Jira plugin Permissions tab to restore connection.
